Child Safety

Child Safety Officer

Is an initiative of Cricket Victoria to promote the safeguarding of children and young people in community sport and was established to protect children from child abuse, bullying, harassment or any other inappropriate conduct at junior sporting events. The Child Safety Officer is the contact person for the child, promotes the rights of the child, and where required raises potential complaints or allegations to relevant government organisations, including the Police and Cricket Victoria. More information can be found here Looking after our kids | Cricket Australia.

Point Cook Cricket Club endorse and adopt Australian Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children and Young People, Australian Cricket’s ‘Looking After Our Kids’ Code of Behaviour for Affiliated Associations and Clubs, and Australian Cricket’s Commitment to Safeguarding Children and Young People. Nick Anderson is our Child Safety Officer.

 

Nick has been associated with the Point Cook Cricket Club for approximately 8 years, with his youngest son playing cricket.  Nick in the past, played Sub-District cricket and is a keen sportsman. He is also a dedicated volunteer at the Point Cook Football Club, helping them out for over 15 years, where he and his sons have played many years of sport. Nick has a Working With Children Check.
